Spotting the Signs of Depression

Reading an article and nodding at everything said in it seems to conclude, I am fatally depressed. Obviously like any human I am trying to look beyond the horizon and seek that which fate offers, knowing that I deserve better and the good will eventually dawn etc. but that inner crunch is not dying and it just gets worse and I get angrier.

Yes my dad will tell me I have left my faith in God, but that isn't the case. I am much more dependent on him than I ever was. I love Him and I know that He knows my pain and every ache I go through. I pray to Him and I am trying to follow the path He has asked all of us to walk upon. Truly I am a little sick in my little head. I will recover, only when I see a visible outlet for recovery. Sorry to make you angry at me, I can't help this feeling and hence i will have to scribble.

Symptoms of Depression: 10 Warning Signs
People with serious depression do not all have the same symptoms, but they may include:

Sadness. When feeling sad is a symptom of depression, it may include feeling hopeless and empty. You may find that no matter how hard you try, you just can't control your negative thoughts. You may find yourself crying for no obvious reason.
CHECK!
I don't seem to lose the sight of sadness. It just is there when I raise my head.

Guilt. People with severe depression may feel that they are worthless and helpless. They may even experience their depression as a sign of weakness, and can be overly self-critical.
CHECK!
I am worthless or as some people keep telling me. I don't listen to anyone, but when people who matter say it, it kinda shakes my life.

Irritability. This depression symptom may cause you to feel angry, anxious, or restless. Men who are seriously depressed often express their depression through aggression or reckless behavior.
CHECK!
Yes! I have been easy to tick off.

Mental symptoms. If you have trouble concentrating, making decisions, or remembering details, these could be symptoms of depression. People with depression may feel that their thought processes have slowed down.
CHECK!
It has. I am back at work and all I can think of is NO WORK PLEASE. Want to go home.

Physical symptoms. People with depression often have aches and pains, headaches, or digestive problems that do not seem to have any other medical cause and do not respond to treatment.
CHECK!
I have been having headaches often and I don't depend on meds.

Loss of energy. If you have depression, you may feel tired all the time. People with depression may feel that their physical abilities are slowed down.
CHECK!
I feel drained by the start of mid day.

Loss of interest. A common depression symptom is loss of interest in pleasurable activities like sex, hobbies, or social interactions. This may also show up as neglecting your responsibilities and your physical grooming.
CHECK!
In everything. I am just dragging!

Sleep changes. Waking up too early in the morning, not being able to fall asleep, or sleeping too much can all be symptoms of depression.
CHECK!
I sleep late and I wake up early. Kinda sad for me.

Appetite changes. Changes in eating habits due to depression can result in eating too much or too little. A weight gain or loss of more than 5 percent of your body weight in one month is one of the warning signs of depression. Some people experience a loss of interest in food, while for others food becomes a way of compensating for feelings of depression.
CHECK!
I have been regular with gym and yet I feel I have miles to go to shed any excess!

Suicidal thoughts. Having thoughts of harming yourself is a serious symptom of depression and always needs to be taken seriously. If you’re thinking about suicide, you need to get help immediately.
CHECK!
Always! but then the God-fearing me kicks the life back into me.

The person before me wrote this, too.
Go to a Doctor IMMEDIATELY!
I will add that you cannot solve this yourself. You NEED professional help, either through counseling sessions and medication or a combination.
Please, Dear AD, I care about you and have worked professionally with many depressed people and saved many lives.

CALL NOW for that appointment! Do not put it off. This is serious. CALL NOW! Depression does not solve itself.
Call now and write me anytime for any reason.

Hugs,
Gel

I hope this is only temporary. A sweet and intelligent girl like you will never take a drastic step. Just hang in there for some more time :) And you will surely be blessed.

Well, you know what they say about cheques---they are always in the mail.

If this is a "true" post, then I suppose that you ought to not cash those cheques, but simply endorse them to your HMO (I presume that an Americanising Desi is resident in the USA) and let them work out a proper plan to deal with the cheques.

If this is a fictional post, congratulations; you created believability.

Hope all either is or will be well.

Take care,
Chris
