Lucid Picture
Posted by Americanising Desi at 7:08 AM
Happiness is a state of mind only the righteous can really taste that is what they all say. While seeking that flavor we unconsciously salvage the present state of being and oversee the lucid picture of the restless ever-after that draws itself in and drives out all pleasures.

A gorgeous photograph, and beautifully written thoughtful sentences to juxtapose.
I particularly like "the restless state of being that draws itself in and drives out all pleasures."
Thoughtful prose - and very deep. Nicely done.
Very well done. Beautiful photograph and thoughtful sentences.
Thoughtful and the photo is great...
Phew, that's some statement! And the picture looks really spooky!
Dead good!!
Love the pic. Nice job with the prompt. Makes you think.
Interesting statements that provoke much thought. Nice.
Deeply thought-provoking statement, and beautifully written. And complemented so well by the photograph!
I agree, we think too much and
ignore the present wonderful
moment we are blessed to be in.
Amazing how much baggage I
will salvage, and how much
wonderful now, I am willing to
toss. However, this year I vow
to change that in baby steps
that will not be erased.
Thank you for writing this poem,
that reminds me of exactly where
my head should be.
Everything weaved in so perfectly well (Y). The picture, the words, the sentence structuring...
Deep statement, and nice picture choice to compliment them.
Well said and perfectly imaged!
Great picture to go with the words.
I like the phrase "restless ever-after" and the way you both confirm and contradict the peaceful photo.
hats off to u Desi! :)
lovely pic, impressive wordplay! :)
A fitting photo for your wonderful piece!
nice! I always wonder who 'they' are when ever I hear 'that is what they say"
but I like what you've said! :)
Hoo boy,
Good thing that "they" aren't near me... "They" sound a bit self-righteous to me, but zealots have that air about them.
I thought that the debauched and hedonistic folks had all the fun.
Fortunately, AD, I know that anyone who posts poetry knows how to let loose a little, so I am sure that you are not with them.
I do wonder how we can have a lucid picture of a restless ever-after.
Where would the focus or foci be? Presumably a lucid picture would be a clear understanding, a dynamic focus. I wonder about that.
And, AD, I enjoy the whole. The words. The fact that you make me think, and the multimedia presentation.
Cheers,
Chris
